January 27, 2023 – Lancaster, PA: Baker, Ingram & Associates, Structural Engineers, is pleased to announce the promotion of Ian T. Walters, P.E. to the position of Principal and Branch Manager within the firm. His appointment follows the December 2022 retirement of Lawrence R. Baker, Jr., P.E., Founding Principal and Branch Manager of the Lancaster office.
As Principal-in-Charge and Branch Manager, Mr. Walters will be responsible for the daily operations of the branch office in Lancaster, PA — including the guidance of our Engineers-in-Training and support staff, quality control, as well as business growth and development.
Mr. Walters joined Baker, Ingram & Associates at its inception in November of 1999. Since that time, Ian has risen through the ranks and has functioned as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Project Engineer, Associate Principal, Principal and Assistant Branch Manager for our Lancaster, PA office.
With over 25 years of structural engineering experience, Mr. Walters’ project portfolio includes multi-family and mixed-use structures, educational facilities, commercial, industrial, healthcare, religious and municipal buildings.
Mr. Walters earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University in 1997 and gained a Master of Civil Engineering degree from Villanova University in 2012.
Mr. Walters’ demonstrated commitment to the goals of the architect and client alike, his experience in meeting crucial deadlines as well as his ability to effectively motivate and lead his staff make him a valued asset to the leadership team.
