A new 160,000 square foot middle school featuring three two-story classroom wings. The school includes a gymnasium, cafeteria, fitness area (weight room), library, a spacious two-story lobby, and a high bay corridor that connects the three classroom wings to the main lobby. Firewalls separate the three classroom wings from the rest of the building. The structural system combines steel framing with masonry bearing walls. Steel-framed floor beams support a concrete metal deck, while steel joist roof framing holds up the metal roof deck. The lateral system consists of both steel moment frames and masonry shear walls, with foundations built on spread footings.
